To write is, as they say, to 'taste life twice.' But the journal's taste - so unlike the first - happens at the pace and nearness and depth of your choosing. You can linger or condense. You can plunge into the burning emotional core of a moment, or cooly examine its contours. You can scour its surface for clues or dig in its heart for wisdom. In whatever way you choose to play, you get to be both heroine and author. As with any art, the real magic happens when you are sincere, give it your time and unbroken focus, and trust it will take you where you need to go. The following prompts and exercises are designed to take you to new states and places. Enjoy.
